By Elena Park 2 min read · Aug 10, 2026

Corn futures are trading with midday gains of 3 to 4 cants so far on Friday. The CmdtyView national average Cash Corn price is up 3 3/4 cents at $4.12 1/4.

USDA reported a private export sale of 286,097 MT of corn to Meixco, with 29,808 MT for 2026/27 and 256,289 for 2027/28

Ahead of the August Crop Production report from NASS next Wednesday, a Reuters survey of analysts shows expected yield at 182.4 bushels per acre, with a range of 180.5 to 184.8 bpa. Production is estimated at 15.934 bbu, as harvested acres are expected to be trimmed by 76,000 acres.

Export Sales data from USDA updated on Thursday showed old crop corn commitments at 87.09 MMT, 23% ahead of the same period last year. With a month left in the reporting period for 2025/26 they are 103% of the USDA forecasts and ahead of the pace from each of the last three years. New crop accumulated sales are now 9.65 MMT, which lags the same pace from last year by 18.1%. That is still the 4th largest forward book for this week on record.

Brazilian corn exports in July totaled 1.943 MMT according to the country’s government data. That was well above the month prior but down 21.16% from the same month last year. ANEC estimates the August export total at 4.08 MMT, which would be a 3.26 MMT drop from last year if realized.

A South Korean importer purchased 134,000 MT of corn in a tender overnight.
